BACKGROUND
The Filipino Youth Athletic Association of Toronto (FYAA) was created and organized by a group of parents during the summer of 2001. The goal is to promote friendship, social awareness, build character and develop skills and sportsmanship through the game of basketball.
FYAA, also known as TORONTO FALCONS, is a registered, non-profit organization with more than 100 members.
FYAA - TORONTO FALCONS IN ACTION
The Toronto Falcons compete in various tournaments in different Canadian cities as well as in different places in the United States. In a short period of time, Toronto Falcons' accomplishments have earned them a great deal of respect throughout the Filipino basketball community.
To date, Toronto Falcons have already won fifteen tournament championships.
Summer is full of fun for FYAA members. FYAA runs an Inter-Color House League and organizes picnics and camping at different provincial parks.
During the holiday season, FYAA celebrates by way of potluck dinner/dance party, games among kids, as well as karaoke singing for the adults.
Financially, FYAA is supported through player registration fees, fundraising events, and donations from sponsors.
